Meet Andrew Caruncho:
Andrew Caruncho is a Miami-based painter and visual artist whose work dives deep into emotion, healing, and transformation. His journey into art wasn’t planned—it started as a way to cope during a rough chapter in his life, dealing with addiction, anxiety, and depression. Painting became his therapy, his way to process and release what he was feeling. “When things weren’t going well, I’d just lose myself in the canvas,” he says. “It helped me breathe.” Andrew’s art is bold, vibrant, and full of movement. He loves using color and layers to tell stories—some personal, some open to interpretation. His pieces are the kind that draw you in and then make you think twice. They're not just about how they look, but how they make you feel. Every painting is packed with meaning and energy, and he’s always interested in how different people connect with the work in their own way. You can currently find his work at Aura Copeland Gallery in Downtown Miami, where he’s part of a collective of local creatives who are building something fresh and inclusive in the city’s art scene. He’s also shown work in other cities, including at The Menduina Schneider Art Gallery in Long Beach, California, and Oditto Gallery in Palm Beach, Florida, along with several notable pop-up shows across South Florida. Andrew is passionate about using art to give back. He’s donated works to Les Couleurs Charity, and other groups supporting mental health awareness and arts education for underserved youth. At the heart of it all, Andrew’s mission is simple: to turn pain into something beautiful and create work that speaks to people on a real, emotional level.
