Across the world, the Summer Solstice is celebrated with free performances of all kinds of music in public spaces. Downtown Miami again celebrates Make Music Miami with a full day of performances to celebrate the summer solstice and the global phenomenon of Make Music Day!
Enjoy lunch or happy hour in Paul Walker Park, 46 W. Flagler Street, from 11am to 7:30pm, and sway to the tunes of Miami's best local bands. Olympia Arts MIAMI concerts are free and open to the general public.

Charlemagne Sands Quartet
Band Leader and Bassist, Charlemagne Sands, is a Miami musician through and through. Having studied Jazz with Michael DiLiddo at Miami Dade College , he has since shared his talent on Bass with artists such as Nu Look, Shaun Martin, Shirley Cesar, Joey Alexander, FIU Big Band. This quartet delivers tight precision, and glorious sound on Be-Bop and Jazz classics.

Andre Carvajal Ensemble
Andre Carvajal is an experienced Spanish/ Flamenco guitar player. His repertoire of fast Spanish guitar, romantic rumba, gypsy style flamenco, and percussive techniques make this New World School of the Arts trained musician truly engaging to watch and hear. Andre, his percussionist, vocalist, and dancers bring a rich Flamenco sound to some surprising song choices during their always engaging performances.

She has been a featured vocalist for the funk-rock band Rhythm Republik and has been performing at a host of venerable NYC venues including B.B. King's, House of Blues. Thierry DeJean, keyboardist, producer, and his S.O.U.L (Sounds of Universal Love) Band play punchy Rhythm & Blues, Funk and most importantly music that you’ll love.
