Valerie Tyson & Friends • R&B/Soul
Acknowledged as South Florida's very own "Queen of Soul" Hollywood, Florida native Valerie Tyson grew up singing, and has been an in-demand vocalist for 40 years. Her musical influences Aretha Franklin, Sarah Vaughn, Otis Redding, Dionne Warwick and John Coltrane point directly to her sound with Jazz, R&B and Pop music, but is is Gladys Night whose style Valerie admits was and is a major influence in her life and singing style that gives her voice Soul. A Sun Sentinel review of one of her shows said "She will take the audience and wrap them around her finger."
